byFoke | Brand Development

Building a complete brand for an award-winning gifting business.

Client: byFoke, an award-winning gifting company

Locations: Shop in Crown Square, Poundbury, plus online and mail order

Role: Creative Director

Timeframe: Logo 2022 · Brand bible 2023

Scope: Brand strategy · Logo · Brand bible · Retail and in-store communications · Packaging and print · Digital · Partner brand lock-ups

The challenge

As a start up byFoke needed a brand that could work as hard online, in a physical shop and on a gift box arriving through someone's door.

Gifting is personal. The brand had to feel warm and thoughtful enough to carry someone else's message, while staying consistent across a shop, a website, packaging, postal labels and the brands byFoke works with.

The idea and creative development

The purpose of byFoke is to put a smile on someone’s face. The joy of receiving a thoughtfully sourced, carefully curated and beautifully packaged gift is a satisfying experience for all involved. The logo had to reflect this joy, give a nod to the gift box itself and show the art of curation.

Working the founder, I developed the identity and turned it into a full brand bible, giving the business one source of truth for how the brand looks, sounds and behaves.

The work

The brand was designed as a toolkit, so every touchpoint felt like part of the same gift.

In store. Shopfront and in-store communications for the Crown Square shop in Poundbury, including shop info cards.

In the box. Folded in-box info cards, note cards for personal messages, postal labels and QR codes linking customers back online, so the unboxing carries the brand from the moment the parcel arrives.

For partner brands. A "for brands" lock-up and guidance, so the makers and brands byFoke works with can show the partnership consistently. [Confirm how this was used.]

Online and marketing.
